Being different in a positive way

DistinXion is a non-profit organization founded by the Zeller family to provide a way to integrate elite character and sports training to help build positive character in young athletes.

DistinXion strives for excellence in both character and sport by hosting summer camps and a number of other services with the mission to positively impact the families of the community. When DistinXion was founded in 2009, the unexpected demand for camps and services gave way for the organization to develop a cheerleading program in 2011.

We know it can be difficult to be a teenager in today’s world—especially with peer pressure, less than ideal role models, and a culture that lives behind a screen. That’s why we’ve designed DistinXion Cheerleading to be much more than a cheer camp. Our staff consists of current or recent college cheerleaders that teach elite cheerleading skills along with elite character values.  Cheerleaders serve as the ambassadors of their schools and universities and college coaches are interested in building teams with a high-talent level as well as high character for this reason.

The overall mission of the program is to make a positive impact through the achievement of the DistinXion goals. DistinXion’s goals are outlined in a trifecta model including:

  • developing character and sport skills
  • facilitating relationships with campers, parents, partners, coaches, and sponsors
  • and empowering others physically, relationally, and spiritually.

All DistinXion staff is committed to these goals and to the overall mission of making a positive impact in the families of our communities. “Be positively different” is not only DistinXion’s motto, but it’s also the DistinXion standard.

The experience was wonderful—great staff, great mentors, knowledgeable, friendly, positive, happy people—love that they have such game day experience and can really be an example of what college game day looks like and what we should strive to achieve at the high school level in preparation.
